Frequently asked questions

What people ask before they book, answered plainly. If the thing you want to know is not here, call and ask — the answer is free and so is the consultation.

Getting started

How do I start training with The Unbreakable Fitness?

Start with the free 30-minute phone consultation. It is a conversation about what you want to be able to do, and it ends with a recommendation — including the recommendation that you do not need to buy anything yet. There is no fee and no obligation to book a session afterwards.

Why do you require a phone consultation before starting?

Because we coach the person, not just the body. We offer a free 30-minute phone consultation before any three-day trial, personalised training plan or course enrolment, and we use it to understand your starting point, your lifestyle, your past experience including any injuries, your mindset, and what is actually driving your goals. Starting something new can feel overwhelming, so we begin by listening rather than by selling you a programme.

Do I need to be fit already before my first session?

No. We work with working professionals, elite athletes, adventure seekers, students, seniors and physically challenged clients, and sessions are built around what your body can do on the day you arrive rather than around a standard you are expected to meet first. That is what the consultation establishes.

Is there a trial before I commit to a plan?

Yes — a three-day trial, arranged during the free phone consultation. The consultation comes first in every case, because the trial is only useful if it is built around the right starting point.

Where and when

Where are you based?

The Unbreakable Fitness is at 1450 SW Marine Drive, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. You can reach us on +1 778 861 2451, on WhatsApp at the same number, or by email at info@theunbreakablefitness.com.

What are your opening hours?

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. Saturday, 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. Sunday, 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. All times are Pacific.

Which areas do you serve?

Vancouver East, South, Downtown, North and West, and Richmond, British Columbia. If you are just outside that area, ask — it is worth a conversation rather than an assumption.

Where do the adventure courses and expeditions take place?

They vary. Paragliding, scuba diving, skydiving, mountain expeditions and treks run in different locations and sometimes different countries, depending on the schedule, the season and the conditions the activity needs. The logistics for your specific trip are worked through during your consultation before anything is booked.

Do you offer online personal training?

Yes. One-to-one online sessions run live over video with the same programming and coaching as an in-person session. They suit people outside Vancouver, people who travel for work, and anyone training with the equipment they already have at home.

Training and programmes

What kinds of training do you offer?

Personal and group fitness training, online personal training, goal-based programmes, senior wellness, and adapted fitness for physically challenged clients. Alongside those: trekking and guided mountain expeditions, scuba diving and skydiving certification courses, and outdoor adventures including river rafting, skiing, snowboarding and climbing.

Can you train someone with an injury, a disability or a chronic condition?

Yes, and it is a substantial part of what we do — there are dedicated programmes for seniors and for physically challenged clients, and our approach is that anyone can take part regardless of background or fitness level. Programmes are adapted around the limitation rather than working through it. We are not medical practitioners, so where a condition is under active treatment we work alongside your clinician rather than in place of them, and we will say plainly if something is outside what training should be doing.

How is safety handled on expeditions and adventure courses?

Experienced guides and instructors run every activity, participants are trained for the specific challenge before it starts, equipment is checked thoroughly, and emergency response protocols are in place. Preparation training happens before the trip rather than the trip being sold as a standalone booking.

How long before I see results?

It depends on what you are measuring and where you are starting. Endurance and movement quality tend to shift within a few weeks of consistent training; strength and body composition take longer. Anyone who gives you a fixed number without knowing your history is guessing. What we do instead is agree at the consultation what you are trying to change, and then track that specific thing.

How often should I train?

For most people starting out, two to three sessions a week is enough to make progress and few enough to actually sustain. The frequency that matters is the one you will still be doing in three months, so it is set against your schedule at the consultation rather than prescribed in advance.

Expedition preparation

How do I know if I am fit enough for a trek at altitude?

Use the free trek readiness tool at theunbreakablefitness.com/tools/trek-readiness. It scores five capacities — sustained aerobic work, load carriage, legs, back-to-back days and descent tolerance — against the demands of a specific trek, and reports the largest single gap rather than an average, because it is the weakest capacity that ends a trek. It deliberately does not score altitude tolerance: nobody can predict that from training data, and a tool implying otherwise would be dangerous.

How far in advance should I start training for an expedition?

For a multi-day trek at altitude, twelve to sixteen weeks of specific preparation is a reasonable target for someone already training regularly, and longer from a lower base. The readiness tool estimates the weeks needed to close your particular gaps, which is a better answer than a general rule.

Booking, pricing and cancellation

How much does personal training cost?

Current prices for every session pack are listed at theunbreakablefitness.com/pricing, and each service page shows the price of that specific session. Packs are bought as credits which you spend on any matching session; some have an expiry period, which is stated on the pack itself.

What is your cancellation policy?

Each service sets its own notice period, and that period is shown on the service's booking page before you confirm and again on your booking confirmation. Cancelling within the notice period returns the credit to your account automatically.

Can I reschedule a session instead of cancelling it?

Yes. Rescheduling moves the booking to a different slot and keeps the credit, subject to the same notice period as a cancellation. You can do it from your account, or by calling or messaging us.

Do session credits expire?

It depends on the pack. Every pack states either a validity period in days or that it has no expiry, and both are shown on the pricing page before you buy. Unused credits and their expiry are visible in your account at any time.

Are you a registered company?

Yes. We are incorporated in British Columbia as THE UNBREAKABLE FITNESS LTD., incorporation number BC1530512 — a licensed, BC-certified and legally registered company in Canada.

The free tools

Are the fitness calculators really free?

Yes. All eleven tools at theunbreakablefitness.com/tools run in your browser and show their results immediately, with no account, no email address and no sign-up. Emailing yourself a copy of a result is optional, and it is the only thing on those pages that asks for an address.

Which formulas do your calculators use?

Each tool names its own method and its limits on its page. In short: daily energy needs use Mifflin-St Jeor, heart-rate zones use the Karvonen heart-rate-reserve method with the Tanaka maximum estimate rather than 220-minus-age, one-rep max is given as an Epley-to-Brzycki range rather than a single number, body composition uses the US Navy circumference method plus FFMI, and hike times use Naismith's rule with a Langmuir descent correction and a pack-weight penalty.

Is my data from the calculators stored anywhere?

The numbers you enter stay in your own browser's local storage, so they are still there when you come back, and they are never sent anywhere. The only exception is if you choose to email yourself a result, in which case we receive the email address you typed and the result you asked for.
